Monday, July 27, 2020: Understanding your aid offer

  • I’m looking at my aid offer—what does this all mean?
    • Where to see the aid in DukeHub
    • The types of aid  
    • How to give a parent or someone else access to see your aid and bill 
    • How to set up direct deposit
    • How to know what you owe
    • What do I need to do to make sure I get everything I’ve been offered?
  • Outside scholarships—how do they work? How can I get more?
  • Is it too late to apply for financial aid?
  • How do I get in touch with you or talk to a counselor?

Questions we’ll answer:

  • What is work study? Can it give me experience I can use? How do I find a job?
  • Should I take out a loan? What if I need more? How do I know what is a good loan?
  • How do I make the most of the money I have? How can I make it go farther?
  • How do I buy books?
  • What if I need a computer?
  • What is FLEX and can I charge things to my account to be billed later?
  • What if I don’t have health insurance?
