Assistant Director for Communication

Bio

As one of the most generous financial aid programs in the country, the Karsh Office of Undergraduate Financial Support is always seeking to share its story with prospective students and families and deepen its relationships with current Duke students. We are always improving our communications and welcome feedback on how to serve our Duke families better! Equity and access are the principles that drive what we do, and communication plays a huge role in ensuring that all applicants and students have equitable access to financial aid. I am thrilled to be in a position of building relationships and strengthening our messaging to support Duke students and families through the financial aid process.

I joined the Financial Aid counseling team from the Duke Student Wellness Center, where I supported students in distress and crisis and worked to create a culture here at Duke that fosters holistic student well-being. I had arrived at Duke in 2014 after earning an M.Div. from Princeton Seminary, where I concentrated in individual care and crisis counseling, and I am grateful that my work here at Duke has given me so many opportunities to care for the needs of Duke students and parents.

What I enjoy most about being part of the Duke community is our commitment to one another and our recognition that we are stronger together than we are apart. Duke is always working toward becoming more aware, inclusive, and welcoming, and I am proud to be part of the team that helps provide financial access and support for Duke students to thrive here.
